Good idea as far as it goes but personally it seems like deciding which color to paint over rust instead of repairing the rust prone components. So much time and effort was wasted on trying to ascertain optimal locations and/or configurations of menu/tool/navigation bars - trying to make one size fit all is impossible. It would have been much easier to make the location and content of all of these bars user configurable (similar to Opera) - we are NOT all alike! Fitt's Law design is a real PITA and only works for maximized windows (which many of us do NOT use). It requires twice as many clicks on a Mac to do simple operations.

I think more effort should be made to make Firefox reliable and useable. For example, fixing memory leaks. FF 3.6 memory use increases from ~300K to over 2 GB in the course of a day until it either crashes or becomes too slow to be useable. CPU useage frequently maxes out at 100% as well. These are hair pulling frustrations - not irksome inefficiencies.

Additionally, I think more effort should be placed facilitating the gathering/accepting of user feedback - both problems and/or suggestions/requests. Requiring users to submit bug reports is a show stopper. For example, what extensions are most widely used? Which are most important (make/break), to users? Should be included in next release? For example I use TabKit to locate my tabs along the left side. This allows me to easily control the width of the tab titles (click & drag), to easily read 30 open tabs, eliminates one "toolbar" entirely and makes moot the entire discussion of vertical location. I would be happy to test v4.0 but since TabKit is not compatible (yet) it is too painful to be restricted to a horizontal tab bar.

Outstanding concept, looking for true feedback from users, what will they think if next? 99% of today's companies would shrink back in horror at this concept....
