This sounds like an excellent idea. From my interpretation, it is about other languages and using subtitles to translate those. That is something that a lot of people will find handy and useful. Here's to that idea and hoping it becomes successful!

I Love this Idea. So basically the video wouldn't have comment text across screen when downloading it. Would that be optional layer that user can toggle and download other video feed on video to load also. Like options to select various user text comments.

Will people have options to re-edit text?, in case typos or errors.

Do you really mean subtitling or do you mean captioning? No matter what you might have heard, they are two separate things and can coexist. (I assume you really mean subtitling because of the mentions of translation.)

I would love to give ideas. I think you should have a like a program that while the video is trying to upload it can get all the information from that video and put sub titles on it and you can pick any language you choose. I know probably this doesn't sound right but it is something.

My first idea when reading about HTML5 and subtitles using JavaScript were something like this:

You'd have an interface in JS with HTML5 video were you just play the video, stop at the place you want to add text, click a button, enters and edits it, plays to the part were the new text should disappear and clicks another button for that.

It shouldn't be more difficult then that.

Where will the subtitles be stored so they can be accessed by video players online?
