Welcome!
Account Manager is a prototype to dramatically simplify how you connect to sites. It implements a new protocol for websites to integrate with your browser, so you can sign in and sign out right from your toolbar.
Look for the key icon, to the left of your URL bar. If your installation went well, it might look something like this (If you don’t see the key, try this link):
The key icon is how you can access the functionality of Account Manager. Remember, however, that this is a prototype. There are a few rough edges, including:
- The prototype only works on a few sites, see the list below.
- You must have a saved password in the password manager.
Signing in or out is as simple as clicking on the key and clicking on ‘connect’ or ‘disconnect’.
How does it work?
We are proposing a new standard that Websites can implement, and although it is still an early draft, we’d love for you to check it out. We are particularly interested in feedback from Web developers and site administrators.

Which sites work?
Any site that implements the draft spec should work. Because it’s a new specification, though, not many do. So that you can get a feel for how the feature would work, we’ve also hard-coded support for the following sites:
