Thunderbird Contacts
![]() |
Contacts is an experiment with a new look on how the Thunderbird address book could evolve. Born from the Mozilla Labs Contacts in Firefox add-on, Thunderbird Contacts was adapted to work in Thunderbird and includes some new features. |
Thunderbird Contacts lets you pull in your “web contacts” from sites like LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter. It also lets you connect to your mail contacts inside of Yahoo or GMail. As each contact is extracted from a site, the Contacts add-on tries to merge the contacts from different sites together into a single contact on your system.

Instructions
Open the Contacts tab from the Tools menu. Start importing contacts from the various sources you use and then see how accurate it is. Once you have a bunch of contacts downloaded you could start building a new way to look at those people. Or maybe you have so many contacts it’s time to find just the important people. Let us know what you’re working on in the Feedback channel!
Release notes
This add-on is a great experiment in ways that the Thunderbird address book could evolve. It does not necessarily represent how a future Address book would look or behave.
As our initial release we’re really interested in lots of feedback on how well the add-on is connecting to other sites, importing and merging contacts.
